End of Year Update

End of Year Update

As we close off 2023, on behalf of the committee, we would like to thank you for your support of the club this season!

We are now well and truly focused on 2024 with the countdown on for to our opening round on April 6th against Templestowe. Our first home game will be the following week on April 13th against East Burwood, while round 3 will be a big one as we host Heathmont on Friday night for the traditional ANZAC clash – pencil that into your diary as it will be a big night!! Like with previous night games, we will have music and the rooms open all night after the game. The fixture for our senior women’s team or netball has not yet been released, we expect both to be announced by the league in February/March next year.

Commercial Manager - Rick George

It is exciting to welcome several new committee members in 2024. Jayden Cairns will step into the role of Marketing Manager, Jacinta Collier will be handling social events with Abbey Jordanov, and club legend Rick George has re-joined the committee.

Special mention to Jaime Pope who has stepped into the role of Vice-President, alongside Trent Bartholomew.

As we continue to grow as a club, we are lucky to have such fantastic and dedicated volunteers to once again step up and lead our club.

Thank you also to our outgoing committee members who have done a mountain of work. Dean McMahon, Paul Gough and Zoe Cant have stepped off the committee in 2024. Goughy will still be assisting with merchandise and the newsletter (he's a true champion of our club!), Zoe will be taking on the role of senior women's coach and Dean will be taking a break and enjoying watching the games on a Saturday.

We have had a strong start pre-season so far, with several new and returning faces hitting the track. New senior assistant coach Cam Crowley has been a strong addition to the group, bringing Premier Division coaching experience to pre-season so far. Several young players have come back bigger and stronger after an off season in the gym.

Our senior women's team will begin pre-season training soon under the guide of new coaches Zoe Cant and Zoe Hill. Numbers have been very strong and both Zoe’s are excited for the year ahead with this young talented group.

All players will be having a Christmas break up on Wednesday night at Jubilee at 6pm. There will be a BBQ and drinks available to purchase. All supporters are welcome to attend.

As we did last year, we will again have the 'superbox' available to hire out for each home game (including night games). This includes a private room on game day, food and drinks and your own TV with the races or AFL on. We will be opening bookings soon, so keep an eye out as the superbox booked out for the year before round one last year.

Our netball teams are currently playing in the EFNL Summer Netball competition. The club is fielding two teams (the equal most), which is a great sign for our growing netball numbers! The white team are currently sitting 5th in Division two, while the black team are currently sitting 3rd in Division four. We’re hopeful to see both teams playing finals in the New Year! We are currently welcoming netballers for the winter season in 2024, if you want to come and play netball at Ringwood this year, contact our netball coordinator Nicole Stagg on 0425 188 066. Last year we fielded three teams and will look to grow our teams again next season.

Our juniors will again grow in 2024 as we add an under 8s, under 10 girls, and under 12 girls to our existing teams. This will give us a team in the majority of age groups from under 16s down to under 8s - a fantastic sign for the future of the club! Our Auskick program is looking at capping numbers in 2024 thanks to the incredible work of Meg Corbett to grow the program to be the biggest in the area. Our growth in juniors continues to be from the ground up. Thanks to our new junior President Sarah Dalton who has taken over from Laura Simkin. After the awarding of junior club of the year in 2023, we will look to further grow in 2024. Coaching appointments have been made for our junior teams, thanks to the hard work of Junior Coaching Coordinator Adam Waugh. Keep an eye out on our juniors Facebook page for pre-season training and registration information.

Thanks to the hard work of Olivia Ashcroft, the club was recently the recipient of a grant from the TAC for our promotion of the TAC towards zero road safety campaign throughout the season. Liv has done an incredible job to spread an important message throughout our club! We will look to once again spread that message in 2024.

Don’t forget to make sure that you support our sponsors. They are the lifeblood of our club and we could not survive without them! For a full list of our sponsors, click on the link below.
